Afterschool Teaching Artist
Position Summary: Teaching Artists report to the Managing Director and are responsible for creating and teaching afterschool programming on site at area schools.
Attributes of Competitive Candidates: Competitive candidates should have at minimum a BA and two years of experience teaching within the 5-12 age range. Prior related experience in summer camping, teaching, or recreational leadership with children. Relevant experience (degree, course work, etc.) in teaching or leading theater arts. Candidates should be well-organized and comfortable, maintaining parent contact, communicating clearly with colleagues, and committing to a strong creative vision for each class.
Responsibilities: Develop programming to produce a final production over the course of 8-10 weeks. Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and theater arts curriculum for participants, perform all necessary technical preparations and backstage requirements. Serve as a role model, mentor, and leader for participants.

Requirements:

Basic First Aid/CPR Certification (Adult/Children/Infant) or ability to obtain certification;

21 years old +

Reliable transportation, sites may not be easily accessible by public transportation
Pay: $25-$30/hr depending on experience.
