How old are MVCCT Summer and Spring Break Camp campers?
Campers range from ages 5-14 (rising 1st grade to rising 9th grade)
What credentials do the instructors hold?
All teachers hold theatre/arts degrees and are experienced in working with children. They are working professionals or specialized instructors.
What are your student to staff ratios?
There are generally four groups of campers, grouped by age. Generally there are 15 campers to one teacher and assistant.
What do the campers do all day?
All camps balance process and learning focus with production and performance. Basic theatre games and exercises are designed to work on specific acting craft areas, like believeability, sensory memory, communication, etc. And rehearsals teach performance skills, learning to follow directions, team building, etc. There is a showcase performed on final day of camp.
Where is camp held?
Camp is held at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 8503 Fort Hunt Road, conveniently located near the Mount Vernon Estate, 10 minutes south of Old Town, Alexandria, VA, off the George Washington Parkway.
Can I have my child stay for before or after care on a drop in basis?
If you have an occasional need for before or after care, you may bring your child in early (beginning at 8:30 am) or pick them up later than 4:00 pm (4:00-6:00 pm). The rate for the morning is $7.00 and the afternoon is $15.00. If you will be staying more than five days, we ask that you sign up for the entire two weeks. Please give at least one day's advance notice and pay with a check when dropping off or picking up your child. Thank you.

What agreements are included in the registration process?
MVCCT is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c) (3), cultural and educational organization which does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, gender, or disability. A student is registered upon receipt of form and full payment of tuition.An email will be sent approximately one week prior to the beginning of your child’s camp session. No other notice will be sent, except for automatic email confirmation for those registering online.
Call for full and partial need-based scholarship application form. Applications must be received by April 1, 2014.
Prior to June 1 a 20% fee will be assessed for refunds. No refunds will be issued after June 1. MVCCT reserves the right to cancel a camp that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, and will issue a full refund.
Parents will be charged $15 when a child is picked up more than 15 minutes after camp ends. Children picked up more than 30 minutes after the time camp ends will be assessed a $30 fee to compensate instructors for staying late.
There will be a $30 fee for returned checks or deposit difficulties caused by over-extended credit cards.
MVCCT reserves the right to use photographs or videos taken during the camp for promotional purposes.
MVCCT is not liable for children who are in and around the premises before and after camp.
Those attending pre-school camp must be toilet trained; no diapers, please!
MVCCT will not tolerate physical or verbal abuse, theft, or vandalism. Any student in violation of this policy will be asked to leave camp and no refund issued.
Release Agreement: Although every effort is made to provide a safe environment, I recognize there is always a risk of an accident. I agree to be responsible for any medical bills incurred resulting from illness or injury during camp. Students are expected to carry their own accident and medical insurance. I release MVCCT from any and all liability and/or claims or damages arising out of personal injury of any kind.
If necessary, I authorize MVCCT to administer first aid and/or authorize medical treatment for my child.
